Green Sunfish
Lepomis cyanellus
Found in all 48 contiguous states, the green sunfish is one of America's most widespread and adaptable panfish. It thrives in marginal habitats that other sunfish cannot tolerate, including small creeks, farm ponds, drainage ditches, and disturbed waterways. While not as large as bluegill, green sunfish are aggressive biters that readily take lures and bait.
