White Crappie
Pomoxis annularis
Found across the central and southern United States in warmer, more turbid waters than its black crappie cousin, white crappie thrive in river backwaters, impoundments, and reservoirs. The spring spawning run draws dedicated crappie anglers who target them in shallow brush piles and flooded timber.
